Twin Cities Spring 2006 Horse Sales were outstanding - the market was strong. Two big weekends brought in consignors and buyers from coast-to-coast and border-to-border. Twin Cities Horse Sales handed out over 1000 bidder numbers. We had an exceptional group of horses consigned, the parking lot was overflowing and the crowd was ready to buy. Our high selling horse of all sales combined was a 1995 AQHA Palomino show gelding “Roll N In Gold” (Rollin) consigned by Alison Poellinger, MN. The whole family had shown this nice gelding that sold for $9,000. The Poellinger family - John, John Elliot, Alison and Mitchell have been consigning and buying at the Twin Cities Horse Sales for 20 plus years. Alison also consigned “Western Wishes” another AQHA show gelding that sold for $5,600. Congratulations Donald Weber of WI, he took both geldings home with him. Thank you Jerry & Stephanie Dalpias of OK for bringing a nice set of Paint horses - they had two in the top 10. K&L Performance Horses of IN had five horses in the Top 50 that averaged $4,950. We enjoyed seeing each and every one of you and all of the new faces this spring. New customer, Alonso Orozco of Chihuahua, Mexico bought over 20 head of horses. John Christiana of Louisiana bought a nice group of performance horses. We regret not being able to mention everyone as there were so many good buyers and sellers at the spring sales. A sincere thank you goes out to all of our consignors and buyers who participated in the spring 2006 horse sales.
The market was consistent throughout all four days of horse sales. The top 200 horses averaged over $3,115. The market time and time again proves that good horses are still in demand. The following top 50 horses sold at the spring sales is proof that quality horses bring outstanding results at the Twin Cities Horse Sales. Twin Cities Horse Sales consistently sells more broke horses than any sale in the Midwest. We have proven to have a solid, strong horse market. Pleasure horses, halter horses, reining horses, performance horses, broodmares, yearlings and foals with conformation, color, size and top-notch bloodlines are key fac- tors in the high end sellers and command top dollar.
If you have horses for the fall sales – consign early for good selling positions. We will have a production sale this fall for Bob Mordan’s Ranch consisting of mares, weanlings, yearlings and 2-year-olds. Bob has been raising horses for several years. He will have an assortment of extremely loud colored Appaloosas. Also, once a horse is consigned, bring it to the sale. With the strong demand for good horses, selling your consignment before the sale could be a costly mistake. People travel a great distance to attend our sales and having a horse in the catalog that is not in the sale can be a big disappointment.
